The Things We Do

The New Jersey Creative Arts Collaborative (NJCAC) works to create programs to educate and enrich the artistic experience for both the artist and the audience.  We present a variety of events to accomplish this.

NJCAC is project-oriented and our mission is accomplished by producing a variety of festivals, workshops and special events focused on enhancing and showcasing artists’ skills specifically in theatre (acting, dance and music), film, literature and visual art.

Potential Events include:
  • The New Jersey Black Arts Festival (workshops and Master Classes for aspiring and current artists)
  • The New Jersey Black Film Festival (screening and talk back sessions created in conjunction with the Newark Black Film Festival)
  • Write On! The New Jersey Literary Festival (readings, poetry slams, talk back sessions, sales for books, plays, short stories)
  • Triple Threat Fest (workshops and performance opportunities focused on artists of color who currently or aspire to sing, dance and act)
  • Diverse Visions Art Exhibit (display the visual work of artists from various diverse backgrounds to include oral presentations and talk back sessions)
  • Business Basics (a series of workshops focused on learning the business-side of the creative arts such as finance and budgets, contract negotiation, marketing/branding, action plan development and execution)
